Our goals

Rho Power SARL aims at the direct or indirect poverty reduction in sub-Saharan Africa.

Direct poverty reduction is achieved by offering cost effective products and services that will:

  • reduce the daily expenses of the population
  • generate more profit

indirect poverty reduction occurs when innovative, cost effective and practical products and services are deployed for

  • Improving the environmental health. This increases the avoided expenses especially for health
  • reducing the scarcity of elementary resources such as electricity, wood, seasonal food etc… making them more affordable for the whole population

1 – Decentralized power generation from solar energy for commercials and the industry

Generating, from solar power plants, 25% of their yearly electricity demand reduces the power production deficit. This makes more energy available for load shedding areas.

2 – Food storage units

Cold rooms space rental – people with limited or no refrigerated storage can rent our space to keep their food or goods

Improved post-harvest storage – a controlled air-quality space dedicated for seasonal products (onions, garlic, corn, beans, nuts…). The storage are filled during the harvest period and the different food are slowly sold back to be market at lower price. The plan is to capture the nearly 20% of the regional food production which would have been lost during their storage.

3 – Plastic waste recycling

Plastic waste collection, preconditioning, melting and casting represent a straightforward recycling process. Our plant, especially the furnace is powered by a concentrated solar unit. This reduces the financial cost of recycling and improves the environmental impact as the process emits less green-house gases.
